Wisdom and the Millers by Mildred A Martin

Click here to look inside the book.

Summary: In family devotions, the Miller family is reading through Proverbs. Dad Miller helps the children understand these wise sayings through explanations and stories. Through out the day, their parents apply God's wisdom to their everyday activities and experiences.

Publisher's Review:
Make Proverbs come alive for the children in your home, church, or school! Here is a character building collection of lively, inspirational stories. Each chapter explains and illustrates a passage from the book of Proverbs, along with a story based on true life experiences.
Follow the four "Miller" children as they learn great truths of life and wisdom; sometimes through their parents' stories, and sometimes the hard way! Will a father's prayer keep his family safe from the burglar? Why did Timmy get a bloody nose at the family reunion? And what is the sad story behind their mother's wooden stool? Read about these, and twenty two other exciting stories.
Other: Miller Family series. The Miller Family books can be read independently and there is no need to read them in chronological order as each book, and even each chapter stands alone. However, the children do grow older through the stories and thus the chronological order for this series is: Storytime with the Millers, Wisdom and the Millers, Missionary Stories with the Millers, Prudence and the Millers, School Days with the Millers. The ages of the children in this family are quite spread out so the books appeal to a wide age group. Illustrations of women show Mennonite headcoverings.

  1. My children really enjoy the stories in the Millers books. They are well written and bring up issues children often have in their own lives - and ways to deal with them in a Christian manner.
