Empty

Full text of tract:

The Empty Cross

Arriving at Golgotha that evening, I was overcome with a sense of emptiness. The area was completely deserted, but three blood-stained crosses at the top of the hill served as solemn reminders of the events of the day.
Less than a week earlier, Jesus of Nazareth entered the city with His disciples and many others proclaiming Him as Messiah, our long-awaited Savior. We were full of hope, because He was clearly a teacher sent by God with the power to work miracles—healing, feeding, and even raising people from the grave!
But then, the one who we thought would bring salvation was dead. It all happened so quickly; one day He was teaching His followers, and the next He was on trial and condemned to death by crucifixion. Even the execution was rushed, as the soldiers used a spear to ensure that He was dead before the day was over.
The empty cross, and the emptiness in my heart, both testified to one fact—Jesus died.

The Empty Tomb

Three days later, some of His followers went to the tomb, found it empty, and returned with amazing news—He was alive! For the next forty days, He continued to teach and encourage His disciples, appearing first to one, then two, then eleven—and eventually more than five hundred of us at once!
Jesus had predicted that He would suffer, die, and rise again, but we just couldn’t comprehend the beauty of God’s divine plan to redeem our souls. When He said, “I lay down My life, that I might take it again,” we didn’t realize what He meant at the time.
But now, looking back on these events, I see how the empty cross testifies of His love, and the empty tomb declares His mighty power. God’s Word says:
 • “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down His life for us” (1 John 3:16).
 • “[Jesus was] declared to be the Son of God with power … by the resurrection from the dead” (Romans 1:4).
This narrative was compiled using Biblical testimony found in Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, and 1 Corinthians.

Your Response?

Jesus took our sins upon Himself—suffered and died in our place—so we can be forgiven. There on the cross, He cried out, “It is finished” (John 19:30). The empty cross tells us that the work is done, the price has been paid, and the door to Heaven stands open.
The empty tomb demonstrates that Jesus won the victory over sin and death. Listen to His words: “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” (John 11:25).
Jesus now offers salvation to all mankind. If we reject Him, we must stand before God and be judged for our sins—“cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15).
But if we admit that we are sinners, turn to God, and put our trust in Jesus Christ, we will find forgiveness and eternal life. “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved … For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:9,13).

No Vacancy

Full text of gospel tract:

“She brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.” (Luke 2:7)
What a joyous, but sad day! After finally arriving in Bethlehem, Joseph and Mary were met with bad news—the inn was already full of guests, and there was no room for them. Turned away, they found shelter among the animals, and it was there that Jesus was born.
Think about that—there was no room for the long-expected Savior, the Son of God who is destined to rule the world in righteousness. You might say, “If I had been there in Bethlehem that night, I would have opened my home to Jesus.” But let me ask you a personal question: Have you opened your heart’s door to let the Savior in? Or is your heart so full of other things that you have no room for Jesus Christ?
Part of the problem is that the world today is so occupied with entertainment, business, sports, politics and religion that Jesus is simply crowded out. We’re busy and distracted with a million different things.
But it’s also true that the human heart is, by nature, sinful. When Jesus begins to shine the light of holiness into our lives, our faults are revealed and we become uncomfortable. During His life on earth, as long as He was healing the sick and doing miracles, large crowds followed Him. But when Jesus started to challenge empty religion and show that He alone is the way to Heaven, He was “despised and rejected of men” (Isaiah 53:3). On the day of His death the people cried, “Away with Him, crucify Him” (John 19:15).
Jesus, who declared “I am the light of the world,” explains why we resist Him: “Light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved” (John 8:12; 3:19-20).
How is it with you? Do you get uncomfortable when you think about standing before God some day? Have you tried to distance yourself from thinking about your sin? Have you crowded Jesus out of your thoughts and life?
Here’s the good news! Jesus came into the world as God’s gift, to save us from our sins (Matthew 1:21). He didn’t just stand at a distance and tell us about our problem: He embraced us and did something about it! On the cross, He absorbed the punishment that our sin deserved, died in our place, and rose again so that we can live forever with Him.
It’s time to stop hiding from God. It’s time to recognize that the things you’ve been filling your life with only leave you empty and unfulfilled. It’s time to make room for Jesus!
Turn to Him, put your trust in Him, and you will receive not only forgiveness of sins, but also a new life of peace and joy in living with God—both now and forever. Accept Him as your Lord and Savior today!
“God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
“He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.” (John 1:11-12)

Queen Victoria (Tagalog)

English edition

Queen Victoria wanted to be sure. After attending a service in St. Paul’s Cathedral, she asked her Chaplain, “Can one be absolutely sure in this life of eternal safety?” But he didn’t know any way to be certain.
A Note to the Queen
The Court News published the remarks and John Townsend, an unassuming evangelist, saw them. After reading Queen Victoria’s question and the answer she had received, Townsend began to think and pray about answering her himself. Then he sent the following note to the Queen:
To her Gracious Majesty, our beloved Queen Victoria, from one of her most humble subjects:
With trembling hands, but heartfelt love, and because I know that we can be absolutely sure now of our eternal life in the home that Jesus went to prepare, may I ask your Most Gracious Majesty to read the following passages of Scripture: John 3:16 and Romans 10:9-10? These passages prove there is full assurance of salvation by faith in our Lord Jesus Christ for those who believe and accept His finished work.
I sign myself, your servant for Jesus’ sake,
John Townsend
John Townsend told others about his letter to the Queen. Many prayers from many hearts went up to God. In about two weeks he received a modest-looking envelope containing the following letter:
The Queen’s Answer
To John Townsend:
Your letter of recent date I received and in reply would state that I have carefully and prayerfully read the portions of Scripture referred to. I believe in the finished work of Christ for me, and I trust by God’s grace to meet you in that home of which He said, “I go to prepare a place for you.”
(Signed) Victoria Guelph
The way of salvation is the same for a queen or a common citizen. The Bible verses John Townsend recommended to the Queen were:
“God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Jack and the Beanstalk

Full text of tract:

You remember the fairy tale of Jack and the Beanstalk, don’t you?
One night Jack planted a magic bean seed. Do you suppose that the seed died when Jack planted it? Of course, not! Out of it grew a beanstalk so tall that Jack could climb right up past the clouds to the castle of the giant!
You know that this story is only make-believe, but did you ever stop to think how wonderful it is that a big plant can grow from a tiny seed - provided, of course that the seed is put into the earth. There it ‘dies’ as a seed but produces a plant that will have many more seeds.
Now I’d like to tell you a story still more wonderful than Jack and the Beanstalk. This story really happened! The seed was not a bean but a BODY! The body of the Lord Jesus was ‘planted’ on Good Friday and was raised up on Easter Sunday! If you think that Jack’s bean was powerful, try to imagine how great was the power of Jesus’ body when it was planted. His body arose, a beautiful body, in which He is still living today - two thousand years later. He is in heaven now but soon He is coming back to earth.
Some of his power will be shown when he will cause millions of other bodies to rise from the grave. All boys and girls - and mothers and dads, too - who believe in Jesus and trust Him as their Savior will rise from their graves and have a new body just like Jesus’ body.
We will live forever in this new body with Jesus in heaven. Now this is why we celebrate Easter. Of course, it’s nice to get new clothes and eat candy eggs or chocolate bunnies, But the important thing is that Jesus rose from the dead. This is so unusual that many people do not believe it. The Romans saw to it that Jesus was really dead, and yet Jesus appeared alive to hundreds of people to show that He was really living again!
Now you can understand what Jesus meant when He said that unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains a single grain; but if it dies, it brings good harvest.1 By rising from the dead Jesus proved that He was really God.2 He wants you to be His follower so that you will also be raised up.3 Being a friend of God is the most wonderful way to live. Come to Jesus Now!

Have a Happy Day!

Full text of tract:

You don't have to wait until your birthday or a holiday to celebrate. Why not celebrate today?
Life may seem dull and only brightened by an occasional special day. But a writer in the Bible had a different outlook: “This is the day which the Lord hath made,” he said. “We will rejoice and be glad in it.” 1

He was talking about every day of the year – not just holidays. The reason to celebrate each day is that every day is another gift from God to us!
The Apostle Paul felt the same way. He wrote: “Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I say, Rejoice.”2 And when he wrote those words, he was in prison in Rome!
Wouldn’t you like that confidence and joy regardless of circumstances? It’s not a matter of putting on blinders or shutting out reality. Rather it’s a case of putting your trust in the Lord and recognizing that He cares for you.
When you do that, every day becomes a special day. No need then to scour the calendar to find an excuse for celebrating.
You can personally enjoy this new life from God by taking these steps:
1. Recognize that your sinning separates you from God and in honest repentance admit your need to be saved: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” 3 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 4

2. Realize that God loves you, and believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” 5
3. Receive Him into your life by faith, and trust Him as your Savior: “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.” 6
When you have followed these instructions from God’s Word, you’re a Christian and you will want to tell others what Christ has done for you.

Little Red Riding Hood

Full text of tract:
There once was a girl called Little Red Riding Hood. One day Mother asked her to take a basket of goodies to grandmother. While she was picking flowers beside the path a wolf came along. He pretended to be friends, but hurried away to grandmother’s cottage to trick the little girl. Grandmother was not so easily fooled and quickly ran away from the dangerous creature. The wolf felt sure he could get little Red Riding Hood, however, so . on went Granny’s clothes and into bed he jumped. When the little girl arrived, how surprised she was to see the big ears, eyes, and teeth of the wolf instead of her Grandmother. She ran fast, FAST, yelling for help and some workmen came and rescued her.
Boys and Girls, did you know Satan is much like that wicked wolf? The Bible calls him a roaring lion because he is so strong and causes so much trouble. Satan goes around finding whomever he can to deceive. He pretends to be friends to get you to do things God says not to do, or to get you to leave undone something you should do. Older people who are Christians, recognize Satan as an evil trickster, as Granny did the wolf. They warn you to beware of his enticing ways, and resist the temptations he places before you. God says in His Word, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” The workmen rescued the little girl. Preachers, teachers, and parents are rescuing boys and girls by teaching them what God’s Word says about Satan. Most important, Jesus will help us overcome Satan if we ask Him to.
Won’t you ask Jesus into your heart and life to help you conquer Satan? Jesus died on the cross that we might be saved.
“The blood of Jesus Christ. . . cleanseth us from all sin” I John 1:7
How can you be saved?
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved” Acts 16:31
“Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” Romans 10:13
Then, by reading your Bible, praying often and attending church regularly, you can win the victory over Satan!

Humpty Dumpty

Full text of gospel tract:

Did you ever break an egg? Do you think you could put it back together? Do you think a king could?
There are some things like dishes and eggs, that cannot be fixed if they get broken. We may cry or work or wish real hard but it won’t be fixed.
Long ago the first man and woman lived in a beautiful garden. They were always happy.
But they made a mistake, just like Humpty Dumpty. God told them not to eat of the fruit of a tree, but they did.
That was called “falling into sin”.
Adam and Eve passed this sinful nature on to their children and it has been passed on ever since.
All people are born sinful. So you were like a broken egg as soon as you were born. Even if you had never done anything wrong yourself, you still were broken to begin with.
Now there is only one way to fix a broken egg. All the king’s horses can’t do it. All the money in the world can’t do it. Only a miracle can do it.
In the same way there is only one way to get rid of our sins. All the kings can’t do it. A million dollars can’t buy a clean heart. You could try to work all your life and not do it. Only Jesus can do it.
He can work the miracle. He can do anything… Why?
Because He is the Son of God.
He died to save us from our sins. He loves boys and girls and wants them to love him too. Will you let Him fix your broken heart?

Concludes with a prayer.
