"But there is one thing that stands in the way."

"It's called sin."
"Sin?"
"That's right. Sin is all the bad things we do that deserve punishment. The Bible says …"
"For the wages of sin is death …" (Romans 6:23a)
"Oh no! How can we earn our way to heaven?"
"We can't! Heaven is a perfect place. The Bible also says …"
"… but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23b)
"Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again from the grave to give us eternal life."
"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit." (1 Peter 3:18)
