Frontline Missions International

“He is risen!”—three words that change everything. This wonderfully good news that was first announced to the women at the Empty Tomb is still being declared boldly in the Middle East by the Risen King’s messengers! Dispatches from the Front goes into this region of centuries-old darkness and division that is now overshadowed by the fierce violence of ISIS terror. Yet, the Gospel is powerfully at work in the Middle East, and Christ is building His Church there just as He said He would. Neither the gates of hell nor the gates of Islam can withstand the work of our Risen King! From mega-cities in Arabia to refugee camps left in the wake of ISIS terror, The Fourth Man goes beyond the headlines to showcase the Gospel’s power to save, the mercy and love of believers, and their abiding joy as Christ walks through the fires of persecution with them.

Pioneer missionary Samuel Zwemer wrote, "The kingdoms and governments of this world have frontiers that must not be crossed." Then he added, "The Gospel of Jesus Christ knows no frontier. It never has been kept within bounds." This border-crossing, boundless Gospel is the theme of Every Tribe. This episode of the Dispatches from the Front series is set in Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos, where a patchwork of tribes lives - people groups long crushed by brutal dictators and enslaved to the worship of demons. But the Gospel is setting prisoners free! From the killing fields of Cambodia to the remote corners of Laos, this is an "every tribe, every tongue" story of first-generation believers, who are now singing for joy over their deliverance, loving the Word, and crossing borders to share the Good News that "never has been kept within bounds."

It Really Works!

Full Text of It Really Works!

Many years ago I served in the army during a major war. Measles broke out and many of the brave soldiers died. The epidemic got so bad we moved all the measles patients into separate tents to protect, as far as possible, the health of the other soldiers. I was wardmaster in charge of the measles patients.
One night while I was on the ward, I passed a bunk where there was a very sick young soldier not more than seventeen years old. The boy looked at me with a pathetic expression and said:
“Wardmaster, I believe I’m going to die. I’m not a Christian. My mother and father aren’t Christians. I never did attend church. I did go to Sunday school just once. A woman taught the Sunday school class. She read us something out of the Bible about a man who went to see Jesus one night. Jesus told this man he must be born again. The teacher said all people must be born again in order to go to heaven when they die. I have never been born again, and I don’t want to die like this. Won’t you please get the chaplain so he can tell me how to be born again?”
In those days I was an agnostic. So I told the boy, “You don’t need a chaplain. Just be quiet now. Don’t worry; you’ll be all right.” I went around the ward, and in about an hour I came back to the boy’s bed. He looked at me out of such sad, staring eyes as he said, “Wardmaster, if you won’t get me the chaplain, please get me the doctor. I’m choking to death.”
“All right, my son, I’ll get the doctor,” I said. So I went off and found the doctor. He came and mopped out the throat of the lad so he could breathe a little easier. I knew the boy was going to die. I had seen many other cases just like his. I went away from the bed.
Do I Have To Die?

In about an hour I came back expecting to find the boy dead, but he was still struggling. He said, “There’s no use, Wardmaster. I’ve got to die, and I haven’t been born again. Whether you believe in it or not, won’t you find the chaplain and let him tell me how to be born again?” I looked at him for a moment and said, “All right, my son, I’ll get the chaplain.”

I walked away a few feet and then turned and went back to the boy’s bedside. I said, “My boy, I’m not going to get you the chaplain. I’m going to tell you what to do myself. Now, understand, I’m an agnostic. I don’t know whether there is any God. I don’t know whether there is any heaven or any hell. I don’t know anything except … I know my mother was a good woman. I know if there is a God, my mother knew Him. So I’ll tell you what my mother told me. You can try it and see if it works. Now, I am going to teach you a verse of Scripture — John 3:16. ‘God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.’ My mother said that I can’t save myself, but if I will believe in Jesus, He will save me.”

I asked the boy to say the verse with me. I started and he followed with a trembling voice. When we finished, I said, “Now, my boy, my mother said if a person will trust Jesus, he’ll not perish but have everlasting life.”

He closed his eyes, stretched his hands across his chest and in a whisper he quoted slowly, repeating some of the words several times: “God so loved the world … He gave His only begotten Son … that whosoever, whosoever … whosoever believeth, believeth in Him, believeth in Him.”

Then he stopped and said in a clear voice, “Praise God, Wardmaster, it works. I believe in Him! I shall not perish! I have everlasting life! I’ve been born again. Wardmaster, your mother was right. Why don’t you try it? Do what your mother said. It works, Wardmaster. This thing works! Wardmaster, before I go, I want to ask you to do something for me. Take a kiss to my mother and tell her what you told me, and tell her that her dying son said, ‘It works.’   ”

The lad was right. It does work. Whoever believes in Him will not perish but already has everlasting life. It works. I know it works! “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth” (Romans 1:16).

Can You Tell Me the Way to Heaven?

Full text of gospel tract:
One morning we were holding the line when our company came under heavy fire. Suddenly there was a black cloud as a shell exploded and pieces of shrapnel whizzed past us. Poor Bert took a hit and fell hard. Jim and another buddy jumped down and picked him up. He was still alive, but it was clear we were going to lose him. Jim and other soldiers found empty sandbags and an old jacket and laid Bert on them in the bottom of the trench.
They had not been back on the firing line long when Jim was startled by a weak voice behind him asking, “Can you tell me the way to heaven?”
Jim jumped down again beside Bert and said, “The way to heaven? Sorry, buddy, I don’t know, but I’ll ask the other guys and find out if anyone knows.”
Jim moved along behind the firing line and asked the first soldier if he could tell Bert the way to heaven. He said, “No,” so Jim asked the next soldier, but he didn’t know either. Jim moved to the next squad and asked the first soldier … same answer. From there each soldier relayed the question to the buddy next to him. The message was passed from man to man, until sixteen had given the same answer — not one of those sixteen men could tell dying Bert the way to heaven.
When you have trained together, been shipped overseas together, faced the dangers and hardships of combat missions together, you become close buddies. And when you see a buddy dying and you can’t help him, that’s hard … really hard. In peacetime we might have given him some sort of answer, but when a buddy is dying on the battlefield, it’s different. What we think or guess just won’t do. No, when a buddy is dying, he wants only the real answer — the truth.
The question was passed down to the seventeenth man: “Bert’s dying and wants to know the way to heaven. Can you help him?”
A smile lit up the soldier’s face. “Yes, I know the way to heaven, but I can’t leave my station to go to him.” Quickly he pulled out a little New Testament and flipped through the pages until he found the page with John 3:16. “I’ll turn back the corner of the page, but you put your thumb under that verse that’s underlined. Tell him that is the way to heaven.”
The New Testament and the message were quickly passed back down the line until it reached Jim. He dropped down beside Bert and touched his shoulder. As Bert slowly opened his eyes, Jim said, “I’ve got it, Bert. Here’s the way to heaven.” And he read aloud, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Bert’s eyes were alert now and he was clinging to every word.  Jim, who was the biggest guy in our company, knelt at the bottom of the trench, holding the little Testament, with tears running down his face as he read over and over again those life-giving words to his dying buddy: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
A look of peace came over Bert’s face as he weakly kept repeating the word “whosoever.” Then, after lying quiet for a minute his face lit up with relief, and with one final gasp he said “whosoever” and was gone. Gone from the battlefield to be with Christ! It was a wonderful change for Bert; he was in his Saviour’s presence!
As a soldier who has now also found the way to heaven, let me assure you that this is the real thing — the truth. Jesus is the real Saviour. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). He also said, “I am the door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved” (John 10:9).
Jesus, whose precious blood cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7), died, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. Now He is seated at God’s right hand where He is crowned with glory and honor. He is the only Saviour and the only way to heaven. It is not enough to merely know the way to heaven; you must actually go that way through Christ — the door.
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” (1 Timothy 1:15).
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31).

How Can I Be Saved?

Full Text of How Can I Be Saved?
The Bible will tell you. Take the illustration Jesus Christ used with Nicodemus; you couldn’t have a better one. Jesus took him to the answer:
“As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:14-15).
Now, there’s the answer. How can I be saved? By looking to Christ; just by looking. You might say the whole plan of salvation is in two words—giving and receiving. God gives; I receive.
A Dying Soldier
I remember, after a terrible battle, I was in the army helping the soldiers. I had just laid down, past midnight, to get a little rest, when a man came and told me that a wounded soldier wanted to see me. I went to the dying man.
“I need you to help me to die,” he said.
“I would help you to die if I could,” I said. “I would take you on my shoulders and carry you into the kingdom of God if I could, but I can’t. I can tell you about One that can.”
So I told him about Christ who was willing to save him and how Christ left heaven and came into the world to seek and to save that which was lost. I just quoted promise after promise, but all was dark, and it almost seemed as if the shades of eternal death surrounded him. I could not leave him, and at last I thought of the third chapter of John, and I said to him:
“Look here, I’m going to read to you a conversation that Christ had with a man that went to Him when he was in your state of mind.” I just read that conversation to the dying man, and he lay there with his eyes riveted on me, and every word seemed to be entering his heart, which was open to receive the truth. When I came to the verse where it says, “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life,” the dying man cried, “Stop, sir. Is that there?”
“Yes, it’s all here.”
Complete Peace
Then he said, “Won’t you please read it to me again?” I read it the second time. The dying man brought his hands together, and he said, “Bless God for that. Won’t you please read it to me again?”
I read through the whole chapter, but long before the end of it he had closed his eyes. He seemed to lose all interest in the rest of the chapter, and when I got through it his arms were folded on his chest;

he had a sweet smile on his face, and remorse and despair had vanished. His lips were quivering, and I leaned over him and heard him faintly whisper, “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” He opened his eyes and fixed his calm look on me, and he said, “Oh, that’s enough; that’s all I want!” He rested his dying head on the truth of these two verses, and in a few hours, he was in the presence of his Saviour.

May God help every lost one to “behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” (John 1:29).

Rescued!

Full Text of Rescued
Before the first battle of the Solomon Islands during World War II, a destroyer left the United States. Each man was given a New Testament and Psalms. One man, who’d never read a Bible before, stuck his copy in his pocket and forgot about it.
After reaching the war zone, they entered fierce fighting. During the battle, the ship sank. Five men managed to jump into a life raft and escape. As they drifted out into the South Pacific, they became frightened, realizing there was little chance of rescue. The life raft had saved them when the ship sank, but it wasn’t much of a refuge in heavy seas in a vast ocean. As each man thought about the improbability of rescue, he had to deal with the probability of death.
While weighing the grim outlook, the man who had put his New Testament in his pocket remembered it. When he brought it out, three of the others ridiculed him. But the fifth man said, “Read it! And read out loud so we can all hear.”
The man began to read aloud from where he’d opened in Psalm 91: “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.”
Before sunset that same day, high waves swept three of the men off into watery graves — the same three who had ridiculed the reading of the New Testament. The two survivors had both believed what was written in Psalm 91 and had turned their lives over to the Lord Jesus, trusting Him as their Refuge and Fortress. They had the comfort of knowing that, should their lives be lost at sea, their souls would be safe in the arms of Jesus.
Rescued
As darkness fell, a sweeping beam of light from an approaching ship suddenly lighted their life raft and locked on it. Although the high waves tossed the little raft up and down, the steady beam of light never lost them. Finally the ship came alongside, and the men were lifted into the safety of the large ship — another U.S. destroyer. The first thing the two grateful men told their rescuers was that God had saved their souls!
The Bible forewarns that God’s patience with man’s unrestrained sin won’t last indefinitely. “Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience” (Ephesians 5:6). God has already set the date to bring judgment upon this world. “He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that man [Christ Jesus] whom He hath ordained” (Acts 17:31). And every sinner will bear God’s wrath against his sins … unless … he has claimed the Refuge that God Himself has provided in the person of His Son, Christ Jesus. “In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and His children shall have a place of refuge” (Proverbs 14:26).
Jesus saw the sinner’s need and told His Father that He would be that Refuge for them. He knew the terrible cost — He would have to bear God’s fierce wrath against every sin for each sinner who would come to Him for refuge. He went to Calvary’s cross and fulfilled that requirement — bearing God’s wrath against sin. He died and rose from the dead, and now, as a Refuge for sinners, He offers you forgiveness and an eternal home with Him.
But what about those who die in their sins — without Christ as their Refuge?
“I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. … And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. … And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:11‑12,15).
God in great mercy offers you a Refuge — His Son Christ Jesus. Will you accept Him as your Refuge from God’s wrath against your sins? Your decision determines where you spend eternity. “Flee from the wrath to come” (Matthew 3:7).

The Young Sun

For over one hundred years, secular science has assumed that the universe must be very old. Many evolutionary theories about the origins of our sun have been proposed, and all demand a random process in which the sun essentially creates itself. But does the evidence really dictate that the sun is billions of years old? This educational documentary explores in great detail the size, distance, structure, energy output, inner workings, and sheer uniqueness of the source of light and heat that God made on day four of creation. With the help of noted scientists, The Young Sun shows why secular science theories of star formation proposed today fail to explain the origin of stars and our sun.

The Heavens Declare: Beyond the Milky Way

The universe is vast almost beyond description. We look all around us, and in every direction we see millions (if not billions) of galaxies floating in space, seemingly frozen in time. Yet we do measure the tell tale signs of a past universal expansion.
There are many Christians who believe the literal interpretation of the Bible and its timeline that ages the Earth to a little over 6000 years, but new generation of powerful telescopes are photographing objects that are apparently billions of light-years away.
Join Dr. John Hartnett from the University of Western Australia as we explore these seemingly contradictory questions and find that the Heavens do indeed declare the glory of God!

The Heavens Declare

What do we find when we look beyond Earth s atmosphere? Is there evidence that other planets in our solar system contain life? In The Heavens Declare, Dr. John Hartnett, a physics professor at the University of Western Australia and co-author of the book Dismantling the Big Bang, explores how the other planets in our solar system are beautifully desolate compared to the abundance of life on Earth. This educational documentary also discusses different motives for exploration and the data that helps to prove that the trail of life in our solar system begins and ends on Earth.

Beyond the Gates of Splendor

"Beyond the Gates" is a feature length documentary film experience about the Waodani Indians and the missionary men and women who have given their lives to reach them. This powerful emotional journey begins with the Waodani describing their way of life before the missionaries visited them in 1956. Narrated by the son of one of the missionaries and each of the wives of the men who died, the audience takes a nostalgic trip back in time to see how the men and women came to meet up with each other in Ecuador. An inspiring story of forgiveness and love.
