God's Amazing Creatures & Me by Helen Haidle

Click here to look inside the book

A creation devotional for children ages 6-10, which shows detailed, pen and ink illustrations of animals -- mammals, insects, birds -- paired with a description of each, then an application for the youthful reader. In exploring God's awesome nature, it is helpful for children to understand God's design for them. For example, just as the monarch butterfly emerges from a cocoon to soar to heights above the clouds, so too can we all rest in the knowledge that God has made each of us special, and He has great love and a plan for us. More than 40 animals, birds, fish, and bugs display principles for youngsters to follow as they learn more about God's kingdom---and themselves! Each "meditation" includes information about God's creation, a Bible lesson, reflection questions, and a memory verse.

Self-Esteem by W J Prost

Summary: The essence of true Christianity is not to have either high or low thoughts of self, but rather not to be thinking about self at all. "For to me to live is Christ." A very good review of the topic. Looks at man in creation, man as a fallen creature, pride and self-esteem, practical effects on our lives, and self-judgement.

The Titanic: Welcome Aboard

Full text of gospel tract:
What you see on the front of this leaflet is a simulation of the original Boarding Pass for the Titanic. For many, it was a genuine ticket to death.
It has now been about 100 years since the passengers and crew of the famous and ill-fated Titanic set out from Southampton, Englandbound for New York, USAwith very high expectations. For a few days, all went well. Then, disaster! The ship struck an iceberg in the dead of night and sank in less than three hoursand more than two-thirds of the 2,224 people who had been aboard went down with the ship.
The welcome message on the Boarding Pass is not historical, but it might well have been. It represents the unjustified optimism and misplaced trust which many had in the Titanic and which has characterized and disappointed so many people for thousands of years.
They make elaborate plans. They set out with great expectationsonly to meet with disappointment, or worse. How many of the Titanic passengers would have abandoned the ship before it sailed had they known what you knowthat the ship was doomed? But, they didn’t know. They believed what they had read and had heard. And, had they heard otherwise, would they have believed it?
Now, friend, please hear this: This world is a doomed shipjust as certainly as the Titanic!
Men have tried their best and done their worst. Many today are desperately occupied with trying to improve a world which they recognize is in very bad shape and getting worse. Scientists, politicians and religious leaders abound with suggestions, and many around us are making frantic efforts to plug the holes and to paint the ship. Others are just as desperately pursuing passing pleasuresapparently indifferent to current conditions and to coming catastrophe.
All are doomedby sin:
“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. … Destruction and misery are in their ways: and the way of peace they have not known. … All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:10-12,16-17,23).
Because of sin, this world, and everybody in it, faces judgment:
“The times of this ignorance God winked at: but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent: because He hath appointed a day in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man whom He hath ordained; whereof He hath given assurance unto all men, in that He raised Him from the dead” (Acts 17:30-31).
The Titanic did not have adequate lifeboats and there was no help at hand when the ship went down.
But because Jesus died and rose again, there is hope and immediate help:
“God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” “Christ died for our sins … and rose again” (Romans 5:8; 1 Timothy 1:15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
Just as the radio operators on the Titanic sent out an SOS (Save Our Souls) call for help, so you, my friend, may call upon God for salvation:
“Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).
Those who trusted the Titanic and its promoters were disappointed. Many of them were doomed. The Lord Jesus Christ cannot fail, and He will never disappoint you. He is worthy of your trust. Today
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31).
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:16-18).

One Day You Will Meet Jesus

Full text of gospel tract:
Who is this Jesus? Jesus is a man who lived and died and He was buried.
How can I meet a man who died?
Is it possible that people return to life at some point in time?
If it is true, will I return as an animal? or as another person? or as myself?
Will I look the same as I do now? Will I be old or young? Will I have all the same memories?
What about this man Jesus? Will He also rise from the dead?
After three days in the grave, God raised Jesus from the dead. Forty days later, Jesus returned to heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God. HE IS ALIVE.
“Christ Jesus … being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, He humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow … and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father" (Philippians 2:5-11).
“It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).
Yes! One day you will meet Jesus. The dead will be raised and you will stand before God’s throne of judgment. You will be raised with your body and your spirit. You will be the same person. God has the details of your life written down in His books, and your works will be reviewed.
“So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God” (Romans 14:12).
No sin will be hidden from Him. You will be speechless because you will realize that God’s record book is all true and your sin is forever against you. You will be put into the lake of fire because of your sin.
However, there is a way of escape! Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
Do you admit that you are a sinner and you are unable to do any good work to earn your salvation?
Do you believe that Jesus Christ died as your substitute and He took all the punishment for your sins?
“Believe on the Lord Jesus and [you will] be saved” (Acts 16:31).
Believe and you will be ready to meet Jesus.
If you receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour, He will give you authority to become a child of God when you believe on His name. Don’t wait! Accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour now. Experience the love of God.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
“The Son of God … loved me, and gave Himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).
