| Squint along the edge of the card and you’ll read, “God Loves You.” Sometimes that’s a hard message to see in a creation corrupted by disease, death and sin. Sin warps our understanding of God. But His love is real and deep. He says, “I have loved thee with an everlasting love” (Jeremiah 31:3). God proved that love when we had sinned and distanced ourselves from Him. “God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). He calls for us to turn from our self-will and find rest in His love and direction for our lives. “Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
