Setting: Rural USA

Summary: Don and Joyce's family normally visit their grandparents' farm every summer but when their parents decide to go on a fishing trip instead the children are sad to think they will miss out on time on the farm. However, their parents decide to allow the children to travel to their grandparents alone.

Thus the great adventure begins and 12 year old Joyce and 10 year old Don go to visit Grandpa and Grandma during the summer. On the first day at the farm, Joyce is stung by a bee. Grandma takes to opportunity to teach the children about the habits and life of a bee. Each day after that she tells the children a story which teaches them about another BEE. The children have a fun time of the farm with horses, pigs, turkeys and many other creatures to see and help Grandpa care for. Even their visit to church is life-changing as the children finally understand that the Lord wants to be their Shepherd and they seek forgiveness for going their own way. However, when it comes time to leave and return to their parents, Joyce knows that what she enjoyed the most about their stay on the farm was Grandma's stories.
