Sarah and Paul Have a Visitor by Derek Prime
Setting: Contemporary England
Summary: Sarah and Paul are twins (perhaps 6 to 9 years old) who live with their Christian parents. They love to ask questions. They are just like normal children. When friends of church have a death in their family and have to go away, they leave their four-year old son with the twins' family for a week. Through Robert's coloring book and the twins' many questions they all learn more about the Lord Jesus Christ.
Some of the questions the twins ask and learn about in this book:
~ What does Jesus look like?
~ How do we know that Jesus is God and man?
~ Was Jesus a kind of superman?
~ Why did Jesus come as a man?
~ Did Jesus heal everyone?
~ Didn't people need to be healed more than they needed to be taught about God?
~ When did Jesus first know He had to die?
~ Is Jesus still on the cross?
~ How do you know there is a place called heaven?
~ What does Jesus do there?
~ Will He really come back?
~ What will happen then?
Other: Questions and activities follow each chapter. This book is probably the best book for children from non-Christian families who are asking questions about the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a realistic book presented in a way children can understand but yet shows much reverence for the Lord Jesus Christ. Black & white illustrations on most pages.
Book #2 in the Sarah & Paul Series.
