Suffering Saints
This world was not worthy of some we are told
Who were tortured because of His name.
Sawn asunder fo Christ, yet such was their faith
They would do it all over again.
The martyrs of old all went to the stake
And were buried in the fire and the flame......

The Dash
Iread of a man who stood to speak
At a funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates of her life-span
From the beginning to the end.
He noted first her date of birth,
Then spoke of her decease with tears.
"But," he said, "what mattered most of all
Was, the "dash" between those years."
1915-2006
That "dash" presented the total time
She virtuously lived on earth,
And God and only those who knew her,
Know what that "dash" was worth!.......
