Setting: Taiwan, prior to 1985
Summary: An American missionary, known as Granny Han, in Taiwan arranges for a young people's conference and trusts the Lord to pay for expenses. When the money arrives she hides it away but it stolen anyway. Believing the thirf to be her house-helper, Oo-lan, but with no proof, Granny Han takes the matter to the Lord. With no money and no food in the house, Granny Han asks God to show Oo-lan that He is faithful and true. God answers her prayers in amazing ways, providing all that is needed. After some years Oo-lan confesses her guilt and commited her life to the Lord.

My children (5 & 7 years old) read this book just recently and found it fascinating. I think it is excellent to have books written about people in other countries that show a different way of life, and a different kind of faith. The children learned from this book how important it is to trust God and to pray believing that He will answer.
