Thank You Tract Card (Starfish)

Full Message on Back of Card:
I'm grateful for the time, effort and kindness you've given to me. It makes me think of the greatest gift ever given. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The amazing truth is that God gave His best - Jesus Christ- for people like us who were only interested in our own way that God calls sin.
But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Will you accept God's gift of salvation that wipes out our guilt by washing away it stain with Jesus' blood? Receive it by believing He's giving to you what you could never earn. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

God Is More Than Enough: Foundations for a Quiet Soul by Jim Berg

What are you looking for? Freedom from guilt? Peace instead of anxiety or anger? The strength to live life with hope? Many people today are imprisoned by guilt, fear, and despair. They have no idea how they became trapped and are helpless to free themselves. This book is for Christians who have reached the end of their own strength and are ready to take God's hand. As you read it, you'll get a closer look at the heart of God: His love, His mercy, His faithfulness, and His power to help those who are suffering. This book describes the slow disintegration that results when someone ignores or resists the truth about who God is and what He has done for His people. It also reveals the sufficiency of God Himself to meet every need of the believer's life.

David Brainerd: A Love for the Lost by Brian H Cosby

Life on the American frontier in the early 1700s was very difficult - continually threatened by disease, attack, and brutally cold winters. The English and Native Americans lived side by side, which often led to conflict. David Brainerd arose as a compassionate and fearless missionary to the various Indian tribes in America. Riding on his horse across rivers, over mountains, and through towns, Brainerd carried the gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost, the hurting, and the broken. Notable pastors and missionaries like John Wesley, William Carey, Adoniram Judson and Jim Elliot were all influenced by the life, passion, and dedication of David Brainerd. In this book, Brian Cosby takes the reader on a journey from Brainerd's teenage years on the farm to his expulsion from Yale; from preaching on the frontier to his death in his late 20s. The reader will be encouraged, inspired, and challenged by the perseverance and single-minded devotion of the early American missionary to the Indians, David Brainerd.

Fanny Crosby: The Blind Girl's Song by Lucille Travis

If you've ever picked up a hymn book, the chances are that you've sung a song written by a blind girl - and not just any blind girl... Fanny Crosby. As a young child she knew nothing of the sighted world around her but that didn't stop her interacting with nature, experiencing the thrill of God's creation. She held her grandmother's hand but she thought that was because Grandmother needed her help not the other way around.

Fanny had a remarkable feel for poetry, and using her gift for memory, was able to compose poems and hymns quickly without forgetting them. Fanny Crosby is credited with writing at least 9,000 hymns in the course of her long life. Prior to her decision to use her remarkable gift for the glory of the Lord, Fanny also wrote many, many poems and secular songs. However, once she decided to follow Christ with her life, Fanny Crosby not only dedicated herself to writing popular hymns, she also spent her life speaking to society's downtrodden.

The encouraging story of a woman blind from infancy, her use of the Lord's gifting, and her refusal to allow a disability to rule her life.

Robert Murray McCheyne: Life is an Adventure by Irene Howat

Robert Murray McCheyne travelled far and wide throughout his short life. He even went as far as Israel and started a mission in Hungary. But you don't have to go far away to be a missionary and make a difference... and that was one of the earliest lessons that Robert learned in his Christian life.
As he stood and stared at the looming tenements of Edinburgh he saw what would become a large part of his life's work throughout his own country of Scotland. "For years I've looked at these tall buildings,' he told a friend, 'but it never occurred to me to go into them and visit the people there who don't know that Jesus has died to save them. There are children huddled together in there to keep warm. The poor things are nearly naked," his voice caught in his throat with the emotion.
And that was what Robert Murray McCheyne was - an emotional, passionate preacher for Christ - a young man who longed to bring others to the Saviour who had loved him and died for him.

Mary Slessor: Forward into Calabar by Janet & Geoff Benge

Mary Slessor pondered David Livingstone's words, "I don't care where we go as long as we go forward." "I'm not going anywhere, Mary mused. I'm twenty-seven years old. I work in a cotton mill twelve hours a day. God, Mary prayed, send me somewhere, anywhere, just send me to be a missionary."

God would indeed answer the prayer of the fiery, red-haired woman from Scotland. For thirty-nine years, Mary Slessor would labor in love among the unreached, often treacherous, tribes of Africa's Calabar region. Braving sickness, danger, and death on all sides, Mary became the cherished "White Ma" to entire tribes. Her faith, steadfastness, and pioneering spirit brought her beloved adopted people their first brilliant, contrasting example of the life and freedom found in Jesus Christ.

Mary Slessor's story in an ageless epic of a woman who would stop at nothing to reach the lost with the life-giving gospel of Christ. (1848-1915).

Rowland Bingham: Into Africa's Interior by Janet & Geoff Benge

The thought of a land with not one Christian and not one missionary haunted Rowland. Images of cannibals and slaves pushed away sleep, and the stranger's words "are you prepared to go it God calls you?" echoed over and over as he turned in his bed. Was he, Rowland Bingham, willing to go to the Sudan, where white men nearly always died?"

At age twenty Rowland Bingham committed himself to serving not only in Africa, known as the white man's grave, but in Africa's Sudan interior, where few missionaries had ventured and those who did soon died of disease or retreated in defeat.

Experienced missionaries told Rowland that his dream was impossible. But when he found himself the sole surviving member of the fledgling Sudan Interior Mission, he didn't give up - neither did God. In an amazing story of vision and faith, God used this willing servant to open a way for the gospel's light to shine on millions of people once thought beyond reach. (1872-1942)
