| Just the way we say the little word “so” can mean so much. God uses “so” to show us the deep intensity and extent of His love to us. “God SO loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). God couldn’t do more to show His love than send His Son to die for sinners. But deep love can be met with deep indifference and a sarcastic “so what?” How have you responded to God’s profound love to you? Has it been to receive it with the humble gratefulness of a sinner needing to be saved from wrongdoing or has it been with disinterest? The difference will determine your eternity. “How shall we escape, if we neglect SO great salvation?” (Hebrews 2:3). |

| Seriously, there can be only one right answer. However, many people use poor logic when they think about heaven. A sincere “belief ” in some way to heaven ought to be good enough for God. Nonsense! God has expressed His way of salvation clearly in His book, the Bible. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me” (John 14:6). He doesn’t say we just need to be sincere and we can go to heaven. You and I have each offended a holy God with our sin. The Bible says, “All have sinned” (Romans 3:23). Why would we expect God to allow sinful people in heaven? Being “spiritual” is not good enough. God considers sin to be far too serious — so serious that Jesus came to die on a cross just outside Jerusalem. “Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God” (1 Peter 3:18). What an insult to tell God that Christ’s suffering is a “good example” or merely “one way” to His Father’s house. Laminated tract card. God Loves You

| Squint along the edge of the card and you’ll read, “God Loves You.” Sometimes that’s a hard message to see in a creation corrupted by disease, death and sin. Sin warps our understanding of God. But His love is real and deep. He says, “I have loved thee with an everlasting love” (Jeremiah 31:3). God proved that love when we had sinned and distanced ourselves from Him. “God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). He calls for us to turn from our self-will and find rest in His love and direction for our lives. “Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Do You Know: The Estimated Age of a Redwood?

| Would you believe up to 2,000 years? A bigger question is, What’s our life span? The God who made both of us and everyone else who has ever lived knows. “What is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth” (James 4:14). That’s not much time. Then what? We “die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). That’s the serious moment when a holy God who can’t tolerate even one act of disobedience (sin) must be faced. What answer to His justice can we give? Will it be “the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth [me] from all sin” (1 John 1:7)? If so, we’ve already passed from spiritual death to life and don’t face judgment. If we only have the answer that we’re “better than others,” then we’ll discover too late that “it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living God” (Hebrews 10:31).
