I Was An Alcoholic
Full text of tract:
The true testimony of Mina Lou Fitts of Tampa, Florida. I drank heavily for twenty years, spending a small fortune and much of that time I was searching for an unknown something which might give relief to my tortured soul. I tried something of everything the world had to offer, but with each disappointment my drinking increased. Everywhere I turned, everything I attempted was clouded with alcohol. I cannot tell you when I crossed that thin line which all alcoholic drinkers cross. The thin line between social drinking and alcoholism.
After I became aware that I was truly an alcoholic, my one desire was to escape. Wanting with all my heart to break the chains of drink and redeem my worthless life, I only ran into another blank wall with no avenue of escape.
What was once social drinking at dances, ball games, fishing, and parties, had become a demanding nightmare that could not be satisfied. Work became a means toward an end endured only that I might have money for the bottle at the end of the day. I had become a social outcast, since no one, not even a fellow alcoholic, wants to be around another drunk.
I chose my friends according to their ability and desire for drink. My family pitied, scorned, and feared me. My creditors marked me off as a bad debt, and my old friends avoided any personal contact and considered me another hopeless drunk. The bottle had become my master.
Then came the time when even liquor failed me, and no longer gave ease to my quaking body and befogged mind. Unfit for society, my dear family wanted to protect me by placing me in custodial care as mentally incompetent. The fear of being committed to a mental institution became an obsession, and I linked my worthless life to those I thought would protect me.
After several serious brushes with the law from which my family rescued me, I was finally confined and put out of contact with decent society.
Destitute, lonely, sick and frightened and without even a drink for momentary relief, a dear child of God came to me and explained God’s simple plan of salvation. I listened to the story of the power of Jesus Christ to save, forgive all sins and restore life to those lost in the depths of despair. And as I read from the Holy Bible for myself, it seemed almost too good to be true. But it was true and all so real. I learned of His death on the Cross for me so that I might be spared eternal death.
The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” John 3:16. In return for this wonderful gift, I only needed to repent and by faith believe that Jesus died for me, rose from the dead and is seated by the right hand of God on His throne. No longer need I carry my burden of guilt and drink. Jesus the Son of God was waiting to lift it from me if I only asked and believed. The Bible says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth My Word and believeth on Him that sent Me hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life” John 5:24.
How I welcomed these glorious words from the Holy Bible. Upon my knees, my soul found comfort, my sins were forgiven, the desire for alcohol was removed, and Jesus now lives in my heart. As an alcoholic I only existed, now I live, for He promised in the Bible: “I have come that they might have life. and that they might have it more abundantly” John 10:10. I am not proud of my past, but if it was necessary in order that I might have this inward peace, it was worth it. My problem was no different from yours. We all follow the same Godless pattern. If alcoholism has you bound, regardless of the depths to which you have fallen, regardless of your present standing in society, there is hope for you. Jesus said, “Come unto Me and I will give you rest.” Jesus also said: “All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out” John 6:37. I shall always remember the day I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour. Peace and assurance were given to me when on the 23rd day of December, 1955, with broken spirit and soul I asked Jesus to deliver me from the curse of alcoholism. Today is the day of salvation, and the Bible says, “Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth” Proverbs 27:1. God loves you. Are YOU ready to meet Him? 4 pages.

Religion is Not a Title to Heaven
Full text of tract:
A man in the prime of life lay on his couch. Suddenly laid aside by sickness from an active business life and from a place of prominence in the church of which he was an esteemed member and office-bearer, he had leisure given to him to think. Never before, in the days of health and religious effort, had he considered his own personal condition in the sight of God, or where he would go when his earthly life was past.
One afternoon, a friend called to see him, and in the course of their conversation he said to the sick man, “I have more than once been at the very gate of death, and I cannot describe what peace I enjoyed at the prospect of meeting God, simply trusting in the precious blood of Jesus Christ as my only plea, my only title.”
The sick man raised himself on his elbow and said, “I have been thinking about the same matter a good deal of late. I feel I have not been sufficiently zealous in religion to enable me to say I can look into the future as you do. I would give all I possess if I could.”
“Religion is not a title to heaven,’’ replied the Christian visitor. “Religion never gave anybody peace with God, or a title to His presence. The blood of Jesus Christ alone can do that.”
The sick man seemed bewildered. He had been accustomed to think that religion was the very best thing in the world, and that when people spoke of “conversion,” “salvation,” and “cleansing in the blood of Christ,” they simply expressed in that way, and according to their own peculiar creed, the same thing as he called “religion.” His friend saw his perplexity, and said, “May I read you a short portion of the Scripture?” to which he received a glad consent. He then read in Exodus 12.
“And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,… Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel,… they shall take to them every man a lamb,… and… kill it…And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. …For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD. And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.” (Verses 1, 3, 6, 7, 12, 13).
Commenting briefly on the verses, he said, “It was the blood shed and sprinkled, the blood trusted, and it alone, that gave safety to all within the house that night. All under the shelter of the blood were safe, all outside it, no matter what their character, were doomed to judgment.’’
Sitting up, the sick man stretched forth his hand, and grasping the hand of his visitor, said slowly, with great emotion, “It’s all in the blood. I see clearly that my only title to salvation is in the blood of Christ.” How many think that religion is a saviour?
How many are trusting to their own righteousness and good works to take them, or to help them into heaven, whereas God declares that the precious blood of Christ, trusted in by the sinner, is his only shelter from coming wrath.
“The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.” I John 1:7 “Without shedding of blood is no remission.’’ Hebrews 9:22
O soul, for thee salvation thus
By God is freely given;
The blood of Christ atones for sin,
And makes us meet for Heaven.

Hooked on Drugs - Healed by Jesus
Full text of tract:
At sixteen I almost died a drug addict. Like many young people I was looking for thrills in life, and I found them, but they were the wrong kind.
My introduction to marijuana came at the age of twelve. AII my friends smoked “pot” and I wanted to be part of the crowd. The more I smoked marijuana the more I needed it, until this no longer satisfied and I graduated to heroin. Gang fights, hanging around the streets and marijuana parties were all part of my life.
The little money I had was not enough to support the habit that now possessed me. To get my money for drugs I stole anything that could be sold, including the family belongings. This deadly habit robbed me of both moral and physical health.
One day, during a gang war, I was shot just below the heart. For three weeks, I Iay at the point of death. In this condition I promised God that I would make a change if He would restore my heaIth. But, instead, as soon as I was released from the hospital I returned to the oId life and was quickly arrested again. I spent a year in a reformatory with no improvement. Even when I was under confinement, outside contact managed to sneak me drugs.
Upon my release, I found myself in the old environment, sometimes spending days away from home, sleeping on rooftops, in part and hallways. One night after an overdose of heroin on a neighborhood rooftop, I nearly fell six floors to the street. Only the quick grab of one of the gang saved me from plunging to my death. For some reason God spared my life. As a result of that experience and the whole tragic mess, I suffered a complete breakdown and developed a heart condition. The outcome was that, at sixteen, I was an emotional and physical wreck. Even with psychiatric treatment, there was no relief. I realized then that I was living only in a dream world. There was no happiness or peace for me. An endless, relentless inner conflict possessed me. Completely hooked, I knew my days were numbered. Friends of mine were dying one by one, victims of the narcotic habit. There seemed no way out of my predicament.
One night I was invited to attend a church youth meeting by my relatives. I felt I had nothing to lose so I attended. That night I saw young people who were clean and decent, and who loved God. I wanted to be like them; I wanted desperately to change. A sermon was given on the love of God and His power to deliver from sin. At once I knew this was for me. I heard that God loved me so much that He gave his Son to die for me. At that moment I believed God could do something for me. Without hesitating, I repented of my sins and by faith accepted Christ into my life as my own personal Saviour.
Instantly a change began to take place within me. With faith in Christ, I knew my habit was licked. Christ had made the difference.
In a few days, the craving for the “stuff” had completely disappeared. I experienced a sweeping change in my mental, physical and emotional life. Ever since that night, peace and happiness have been mine.
My wife, children, and I now have a wonderful Christian home. All this and more are found in Jesus Christ, who died for us. There is no comparison to Him. Christ is concerned with the hard cases in life. I recommend to you the same Gospel that changed my Iife. The Bible says, “I am the Lord, the God,of all flesh; is there any thing too hard for Me?” Jeremiah 32:27.
Whatever it is that may have your life hooked today, Jesus can make you free. The Bible teaches, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” John 8:36.
Why not repent now and receive Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord?

Four Things God Wants You to Know
Full text of tract:
You NEED to be Saved
“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 “There is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good and sinneth not.” Ecclesiastes 7:20 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9 “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way.” Isaiah 53:6
Jesus Has ALREADY PROVIDED for Your Salvation
“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God.” I Peter 3:18 Him (Jesus) “Who knew no sin, to be sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” II Corinthians 5:21 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
DO IT NOW…
“Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near.” Isaiah 55:6 “Behold, now is the day of salvation.” II Corinthians 6:2
You CANNOT Save Yourself
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us.” Titus 3:5 “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” James 2:10 “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Proverbs 14:12 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” John 14:6
Jesus WILL Enable You to OVERCOME Temptation
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not permit you to be tempted above that ye are able, but will with the temptation, also make the way to escape.” I Corinthians 10:13 “If the Son, therefore, shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” John 8:36 “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away… all things are become new.” II Corinthians 5:17
Remember…
“Every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” Romans 14:12 “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” Hebrews 9:27 “He that… believeth on Him that sent Me… shall not come into judgment.” John 5:24 “Choose you this day whom ye will serve.” Joshua 24:15
Your Part…
Believe — “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…” Acts 16:31 Repent — (turn from your sins). “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” Luke 13:3 Confess your sin to Jesus — “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man, Christ Jesus.” I Timothy 2:5 Confess Jesus Before Men — “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9
Being convinced that I am a sinner, and knowing that “Christ died for the ungodly,” Romans 5:6. I NOW accept Jesus as my Saviour and with His help I intend to confess Him before men.

I Am the Door
Full text of tract:
The Lord Jesus presented Himself as the Door to salvation. He said: “I am the Door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” John 10:9. Let us consider every word of the statement: “I am the Door.”
The personal pronoun “I” refers to the Lord Jesus Christ. When He says “I am the Door,” He excludes everything and everybody else. Hence the Church - although a divine institution - is not the Door. The preacher - although able to point his hearers to the Door - is not the Door. The ordinances - although given by the Lord - are not the Door. Good works - although enjoined upon believers - are not the Door.
The Lord Himself is the Door! He said: “No man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” John 14:6. It is written: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” Acts 4:12.
The word “Am” deserves serious consideration. He did not say: “I was the Door” — as though it were only true in the past. He did not say: “I will be the Door” — as though it were something that would only be true of Him in the future. He said: “I am the Door.” He is the Door in the present — right now. That is why we are invited to: “Come now” and “Enter now.” We are assured that: “Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” II Corinthians 6:2.
The definite article “the” is to be noticed. The Lord Jesus did not say: “I am a Door” — as though there were many doors. All roads may lead to London (or Rome) but all doors do not lead to Heaven.
The Lord Jesus is not one of the many doors, but the Door — the only Door. He said: “There is none else.” Isaiah 45:22. “No man, save Jesus only.” Matthew 17:8.
The word “Door” is appealing in its simplicity and suggestiveness. We all know what a door is and what it is for — a door is an entrance, a portal, a means of access.
The Lord Jesus is the entrance to Salvation, to Peace, to Eternal Life, to Divine Glory, to Heaven and Home! And is it not fitting that He should be the Door? For He is the only One who died for our sins, that He “might bring us to God.” I Peter 3:18. It was His precious blood that was shed for the remission of our sins (Ephesians 1:7). He has been raised from the dead and is the “first fruits of them that slept.” I Corinthians 15:20. He alone is worthy and able to say: “I am the Door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved.”
Now notice the simplicity of God’s way of salvation - “By Me if any man enter in he, shall be saved.” Not by Law - not by works - not by character - not by conduct - not by money, but “by Me,” said the Lord Jesus. “By Me if any man” - any person, man, woman, girl or boy - “enter in, he shall be saved.”
The Door is wide open! You have an invitation to enter. He says: “Come unto Me.” Matthew 11:28. Will you enter now?
When you enter, you are in the flock of the Great Shepherd, and you may go in and out among His sheep and find pasture.
In Christ you are a new creation; then the ordinances should be observed, then good works should be diligently maintained, then you should “honour the Lord with thy substance,” Proverbs 3:9 then your conduct should reveal the fact of your salvation.

Mayroong Dako Ng Ka1igayahan (Sa Piling Ng Dios) Na Makakamtan At Mayroong Dako Ng Kaparusahan (Sa Impierno) Na Dapat Iwasan.

What Are You Searching For?
Full text of tract:
In a popular tabloid, Elizabeth Taylor was once quoted as saying, “God knows I have tried: I have tried fame, food, men, drugs and drink, but I have never found peace.” The story continues, stating that as Taylor looked at her sleeping mother so very near death, she said sadly, “Maybe death is the only peace.”
Elvis Presley was asked by a reporter, six weeks before he died, “Elvis, when you started playing music, you said you wanted three things in life: you wanted to be rich, you wanted to be famous, and you wanted to be happy. Are you happy, Elvis?”
Presley replied, “No, I am as lonely as hell.”
It seems that riches, fame, so-called friends, and even youth and health do not necessarily bring peace and happiness. Elizabeth Taylor and Elvis Presley had all of the above, except for peace and happiness!
And they are not the exception. The world is full of rich and famous people who are miserable and lonely. The number of people committing suicide, most of them young, in the prime of their lives, is ever increasing. Loneliness and depression are the most frequently diagnosed problems. The poor and the sick are not the only ones affected by loneliness, fear, depression, and anxiety. Men and women, the rich and the poor, the young and the old everywhere are yearning to find some happiness and peace. Unfortunately, few find it.
Why? Why can’t we find peace and happiness? What is the problem? The problem is our separation from God.
The Bible confirms this separation, “That at that time you were without Christ... having no hope, and without God in the world” Ephesians 2: 12. This problem of separation affects all mankind because, “all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23. We are, by nature, sinful creatures standing apart from a Holy God. This sin problem leaves all of us with an emptiness that must be filled.
Pascal, the great mathematician once said, “In each of us there is a God-shaped vacuum yearning to be filled.” How do we overcome this sin barrier? The solution to the problem must come from God’s side, for each of us has already sinned. God’s solution is Jesus Christ, who is the “Prince of Peace” Isaiah 9:6. The Hebrew word used is “Sar Shalom” and has a much wider meaning than the term “peace.” It does not only mean absence of war and strife, but it includes prosperity, well-being, harmony within and without, peace in one’s heart and peace with God. It is the perfect state of man.
We read about God’s solution in His Holy Word. “For God so loved the world, (you and me) that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” John 3: 16. God did His part to reach you. He wants you to have peace, joy and eternal life. Do you have peace and joy? Or have doubts and fears become a way of life for you?
If what you are searching for is happiness, joy and peace, you will only find it in Jesus Christ who died for each one of us. He wants you to have lasting peace and eternal life. You can make peace with God right now by asking Him to come into your heart and life.
You can do that by praying a simple prayer like this: “Dear Jesus, I need help. Please help me. I am a sinner and need to put my life in order, but I know I can’t do it alone. I have tried and failed many times. Please forgive all my sins and give me a new start. I believe that You love me and died for my sins. Come into my life and be my Lord and Saviour. I need your peace and strength. I surrender my life and my all to You. I now believe that You have forgiven my sins and saved my soul. Thank you.” If you have prayed to trust Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, or if you need more literature, please write to the address below.

Going for Gold
Text of the tract:
The modern Olympics have been going since 1896—much more than a century. That may seem a long time, but really it’s quite brief when compared with the ancient Olympics in Greece which lasted 1,170 years from 394BC to 776AD.
The ancient games took place every four years except when there was military conflict, just like the modern ones, which were cancelled in 1916, 1940 and 1944 because of the two world wars.
How many victors were crowned with a laurel wreath and hailed as champions in all the years of the ancient Olympics! Again, the modern Olympics are no different—there are thousands of gold, silver and bronze medals on offer.
But one of the ancient games—in 4BC—saw the birth of a man who never became an Olympic champion, yet His name and fame are better known today than those of the champion athletes of the time. He received a crown but not as a sign of honour, power and majesty. It was no laurel wreath but one made of thorns. It was given to Him in contempt by those who hated Him. Shortly afterwards they killed Him, glad to get rid of someone who had constantly pricked their consciences. But they had deceived themselves!
Who are we talking about? Jesus Christ, the Son of God, of course. On the third day after He was crucified, He rose from the dead and was seen by many of those who had followed Him in His life, much to the consternation of His enemies. He had won a victory far greater than any Olympic champion. He had overcome sin, death and the devil who had held the power of death over people until then. No other man (and no woman for that matter) has achieved anything comparable. He is the only One truly worthy of glory and honour. But do you see Him in this way?
When Jesus lived on earth, he never claimed glory for Himself. Today’s sports champions often run a lap of honour with their national flag draped round them, but His nation despised Him—indeed they put a mock robe on Him—even though He had come to ‘save His people from their sins’ (Matthew ch. 1 v. 21). But now He is in heaven God has ‘highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord’ (Philippians ch. 2 vs.9-11). These words mean that a day is coming when everyone who has ever lived will acknowledge Jesus as Lord.
You can do it now—during your lifetime—by confessing your sins and trusting Jesus as your Saviour, or then—after your death—by compulsion, when He ‘will judge the world in righteousness’ (Acts ch. 17 v. 31). If you confess Him now, you will receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life; if not until then, you will suffer God’s righteous punishment for eternity (see John ch. 3 v. 36). When every knee bows and every tongue confesses Him, Jesus will be acclaimed with glory and honour beyond anything any other person has received, not even the greatest of sporting heroes. When that moment comes, will He be your Saviour or your judge?

Faster... Higher... Stronger
Text of the tract
The Olympic motto is: ‘citius, altius, fortius’. It means ‘faster, higher, stronger’. This is what motivates every sportsperson. They all want to improve their performance, especially those taking part in the Olympic Games who hope to win a medal. Think of the time and energy they spend preparing themselves for the supreme event! The competition is fierce, and not everyone can win. Only the very best go home as champions; others are disappointed despite having had the honour of representing their countries.
The glory of Olympic champions does not last for very long. At the London Olympics of 1948 the Dutch athlete, Fanny Blankers-Koen, won four gold medals—just like Jesse Owens in Berlin in 1936—but who remembers her now? Since her day other athletes have won even more medals. They have been honoured in their turn, but even they have disappeared from most people’s memories. Today’s fans have other idols.
The older we get, the slower—not the faster—we become. But time itself seems to slip away faster and faster. That is what makes it so necessary to take advantage of the present time and put our trust in the one person who enjoys everlasting glory: Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who died on the cross to open the way for us to come to God. On the third day after His crucifixion He rose from the dead, and 40 days later He ascended to His God and Father to be made ‘higher than the heavens’ (Hebrews ch. 7 v. 26). There He was crowned with glory and honour for the work of salvation He had accomplished for us.
When Jesus was here on earth, He spoke of a strong man who guarded his palace with his weapons. He was referring to Satan, the devil, the enemy of our souls, who tries to stop us following Christ and keep us under his power by inducing us to sin. But then Jesus spoke of Himself as the One who is ‘stronger than he’ overcoming the devil (read Luke ch. 11 vs. 14-23).
We are all subject to death as a result of sin: ‘the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord’ (Romans ch. 6 v. 23). Jesus died so that ‘through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil’ (Hebrews ch. 2 v.14). The only way to heaven is to accept Jesus as our Saviour! Whoever refuses Him is like one of those ‘also-rans’ from the world of sport who will be forgotten forever. At the judgment seat of Christ, after death, he or she will hear those fateful words, ‘I do not know you’ (Matthew ch. 25 v. 12) and be banished to eternal punishment.
Would you have imagined the Olympic motto could have a personal, spiritual application to you? Those who love and follow the Lord Jesus look forward to His return so that they will be with Him in heaven all the faster! Then He will raise them to a place ‘higher than the heavens’ to be with Him forever. And while they wait for that moment, their faith grows stronger as they follow and serve Him. Don’t let this opportunity of salvation pass by and miss out on that everlasting glory God wants you to enjoy.

Seeing the Invisible by Faith Cook
When John Bunyan asked Elizabeth to marry him he was inviting her to share
not only his life but also his suffering. A heavy burden would rest upon
Elizabeth's young shoulders. First there was the care of John's four
motherless children. Mary Bunyan had died the previous year leaving behind
four young children of whom the eldest was blind. But a yet darker shadow
hung over John Bunyan. The death of Cromwell in 1658 spelt an end to the
period of toleration enjoyed by those men and women who felt unable to
conform to the strictures imposed on their worship by a Church of England.
The threat of persecution was real. Already the small group of believers
had been turned out of its place of worship; some members had faced
crippling fines and all John's activities were carefully scrutinized.
Elizabeth's acceptance of John Bunyan's proposal speaks highly of the
charter and faith of this young woman.
Seeing the Invisible tells the story of Elizabeth Bunyan and nine other
ordinary Christians who exercised extraordinary faith in their God. None of
these individuals is a famous name in Christian history, but their faith in
Christ and devotion to his church encourage and inspire all of us to
exercise faith in the same glorious and powerful God who enabled them to
`endure as seeing him who is invisible'.
