Sunshine Through the Storm by Rhoda Bontrager

Setting: Northern American farm, 21st May,2004

Summary: 10 year old Joel was excited that it was summer and he could spend time outside - taking the cows to pasture, helping Dad repair farm equipment, helping in the garden. His older sister and his 5 year old sister all help out too.
Suddenly, the wind comes up and the sky turns are terrible colour. Quickly, Mama urges the children to race for shelter in the basement. But where is Daddy? The family remember what Daddy had said that morning: "No matter what happens today, remember, God is with us." So there in the dark of their shelter they turn to God and not much later Daddy appears! As the family heads outside to survey the damage from the tornado. Before too long, family and people from their church have arrived to help with the clean-up, repairs and cooking.
